Who We Are

We are a parent collective with a vision and a deep commitment to seeing every one of our children as an individual. We have co-created an independent learning group of K-4 children led by Waldorf trained educators. Children learn in a beautiful schoolhouse building and amongst 70 acres of gorgeous meadow, forest, and farm on Salt Spring Island.

We have a simple mission: To offer a secure environment in which a child’s inherent love of learning is celebrated. Our aim is to foster independent learners who are confident in meeting challenges - academically, emotionally, and socially. We believe that early schooling experiences shape our attitudes and confidence for life.

Our holistic, full-spectrum program includes:

  • Waldorf inspired teaching

  • Nature education (learning about and learning in nature)

  • Literacy and numeracy development in alignment with the BC curriculum

  • Play based, hands on learning

  • Project-based learning

  • Art and crafting

  • Story-telling and puppetry

  • Music with songs and instruments

  • Mindfulness practice
